Given the step-by-step instructions, the setup process was relatively smooth. I do have a lot of tabs open (Brightspace, the EDCI 336 webpage, Mattermost, Creating a Blog on the Open ETC, my blog’s dashboard, and this tab) and am going back and forth between them to make sure I’m on track.
I think my first aspiration for the class is just to keep up. If I can do that, I’ll be happy. As for tweaking and personalizing my page, I don’t want to be too ambitious just out of the gate. Every once in a while I will try a few things in the dashboard though, and I’ll see how it goes.
I’m still undecided on my inquiry topic. I’m thinking in general realm of music, but I need a bit more time (and maybe a few conversations with others) to get a sense of what might be doable in the time frame of a semester – or to make the decision of this project going beyond the semester.
I think the first class was great. Andrew is obviously passionate about tech and seems to be a great resource for things tech. If this were my only class, I would definitely take advantage of being in contact with someone so tech-savvy, but again, I’ll plan to take one step at a time.
